Romea Strata Nominated as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, it starts from Tallinn in Estonia and, passing through Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Slovenia for a special small stretch of road to Italy then reaches Rome, covering 4,044 km and crossing eight European countries. It can be traveled Each stage can be traveled totally or only partially on foot, by bicycle or using other means, and it can be experienced in static stages, with events organized at key points of interest along the route. These events (cultural or artistic, concerts, theatre, art exhibitions, public debates, sporting events or others…) could focus on the theme of peace, to promote dialogue and connections between different communities and nations. It is very important that in each country crossed by the relay, at least one cultural event is held, such as a conference on peace and the role of Lions in spreading the culture of peace and understanding between peoples. Each event could be an opportunity for every District to raise funds for LCIF, to support humanitarian services to civilians affected by war, or for a local service.

The Leo Europa Forum 2027 will take place in Switzerland. In this presentation, we will discuss why the Leo Forum is so important for Leos in Europe, what makes the programme stand out, and what will happen during LEF 2027.

PAUL is a simple and efficient solution for water supply at small communities and institutions e.g villages, schools, hospitals. PAUL provides filtration of contaminated water (viruses and bacteria) and requires neither external energy (gravity only) nor chemicals. More than 6000 PAULs are distributed worldwide. The presentation of the PAUL water filter includes its functionality as well as its worldwide use in disasters and permanent supply operations.

Participants will learn how to use the Impact Canvas, a practical tool for planning and tracking projects, to identify clear objectives, beneficiaries, and metrics for success. The workshop will also demonstrate modern communication tools and AI applications that help clubs share their achievements effectively, increasing visibility and engagement. Attendees will leave with a concrete plan for their own projects, ready to implement in their clubs. This interactive session encourages discussion, collaboration, and hands-on exercises, making it ideal for members eager to strengthen their club’s presence and grow membership.

Implemented under the New Voices initiative by District 118-E, the “There Is No Other Way” project brought together power of art and social awareness. Centered around theme “This Burden Is Heavy for All of Us,” project aims to challenge misconceptions surrounding the concepts of honor and morality, reinforce universal values such as integrity, honesty, ethics, and raise awareness about gender equality. As part of the project, an open call was launched for emerging artists throughout Türkiye. Following a nationwide application process attracting participants from Turkey, selected works met art enthusiasts. This multidisciplinary exhibition featured 31 artists working across various disciplines, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, graphic arts, and photography. While providing emerging artists with an opportunity to exhibit their work, the exhibition also invited visitors to reflect on an important social issue. Designed to reach broad audiences, it has been conceived as a traveling exhibition. This project serves as an important example of an initiative that contributes to the sustained promotion and visibility of Lions, ensuring continuity and long-term impact.

The representatives of the Ukrainian Lions Clubs will present their humaniatarian service activities rendered in Ukraine, mainly using the Ais and Assistance of the European and Non-European Lions. Sharing of best practices and experiences, needs.

Caps of Courage is a Lions-led childhood cancer service project providing free handmade comfort items to children and young people undergoing cancer treatment. Since beginning in the UK, the project has grown to involve more than 1,500 volunteers and over 5,500 handmade items, including caps, Wiggly Bags, Port Pillows, PICC Line Covers and Seat Belt Covers. This presentation will share how the project was developed, how Lions Clubs and community volunteers have become involved, and the difference these practical items make to children, families, hospitals and charities. The session will also explore how Caps of Courage could grow across Europe. Lions in different countries could use shared patterns, guidance and branding while creating local volunteer networks and supplying items directly to hospitals and childhood cancer organisations in their own communities. The aim is to inspire collaboration and begin building a European Caps of Courage movement through Lions Clubs International.

Lions SEN concept Introduction: Demographic change and the challenges it poses for the future mean that Lions must make adjustments in various areas to ensure sustainable development in an ageing society. As the population ages, Lions clubs will also be characterised by an increasing number of older members. This requires adjustments to the interests and needs of members and the target group of activities for older people, in line with the motto 'We Serve'. As these groups may have different preferences, it is necessary to offer programmes and events that cater to their needs in a differentiated manner. In order to successfully meet the challenges of demographic change and optimally implement its guiding principle of 'We Serve' in a society of longevity, it is crucial for the Lions organisation to remain flexible and adaptable. General objectives: • Improving quality of life: Lions SEN aims to improve the quality of life of older people by promoting life skills. At the same time, it offers members of the Lions organisation opportunities for active engagement and personal development. Lions SEN integrates and adapts proven life skills promotion methods to the specific needs of senior citizens. • Active engagement: The life skills programme helps older people enjoy an active and fulfilling life with high levels of social participation by taking preventive measures. It gives members the chance to participate in SEN activities and develop personally. Target groups: • Seniors aged 65 and over. • Lions Club members and people who are retired or preparing for retirement. • Lions interested in senior activities • Seniors who can receive support through Lions activities. The objectives of LionsSEN are as follows: • Promoting life skills among older people. • Promoting a positive image of ageing. • Supporting lifelong learning and personal development. • Providing information about demographic change. • Improving the social integration of senior citizens and promoting interest in SEN projects. • Health promotion and prevention. • Public relations work on behalf of senior citizens. • Providing information and advice to Lions officials. Measures Benefits for club members: • Preparing younger members: Targeted preparation of younger adults promotes successful ageing and intergenerational cooperation. In addition to sustainable SEN flagship projects such as 'We Connect You' with the Lions Comfort Tablet (LKT) and '3000 Steps Social (E)Motion' under the motto 'We Connect You Analogously and Digitally', Lions and Leos are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity in the spirit of 'We Serve' to support older people. • Support for older members: To encourage the active participation of older Lions members in club life and activities, a checklist entitled 'Supporting Lions in your own club' is now available (see attachment). Regular events and online lectures on ageing-related topics are intended to promote a positive image of ageing and intergenerational cooperation. Benefits for Lions Clubs: • Increased member retention and satisfaction. The number of people affected by diabetes mellitus in Europe and worldwide rises considerably every year. Lions and their clubs in Germany and Europa are called to join forces to raise awareness for diabetes and particularly support families of children with type 1 diabetes. The aim of the (workshop/presentation/meeting) is to raise socio- political awareness among European Lions about the complex problem of diabetes outside of medical treatment. Successful activitys comprise yearly awareness campaigns predominantly during november i.e. the diabetes month, and support of families and children, affected by type 1 diabetes. Workshop participants. actively contribute and exchange experiences on successful projects in various European countries. As a goal, participants will enable a blueprint for transfer into european lions clubs.

Water Walk, a project aimed at enhancing children's understanding of water and water conservation. The project is designed to help young children in primary school comprehend the significance of environmental and water preservation, it´s crucial to emphasize that water fundamental to all life.

Presentation of the project of the vision and growth of the biggest LEO of Europe ,124 Romania, as a tool to chime e Mission 1.5 objectives

A Lions-inspired children’s tale, written by a Lion and transformed into an original opera-ballet, could become a powerful cultural legacy for Lions Clubs International. Rooted in universal values—friendship, kindness, service, courage, diversity, and hope—the story would speak to children while inspiring audiences of all ages through music, dance, and visual storytelling. Unlike a single event or project, an original artistic work can transcend borders and generations. A professionally commissioned score and choreography, performed by local artists across Europe, would unite communities through culture while advancing the Lions mission of service and understanding among peoples. Touring productions could engage schools, families, cultural institutions, and Lions Clubs, creating both educational and philanthropic impact. Over time, the work could become a recognizable Lions cultural landmark—much as an anthem symbolizes a nation—offering a lasting artistic expression of *We Serve*. By combining literature, music, dance, and service, Lions would not simply sponsor culture; they would create it. Such a project would leave a legacy far beyond the stage: a timeless work of art carrying the Lions message to future generations throughout Europe and, ultimately, the world.

Since 2014 we care for water wells in the region of Tansania. As a member of LIons Club Wels Thalheim and head of organistation SATAO we collect money to finance waterwells for clean water (110m deep) We already made 3 wells (Loibersoit, Sinja, Burunga) now the new project ist near our partner school Jali Green which we will finance together with Lions Club Wels. I am always organising big concert as End of may in Brucknerhaus LInz with 1100 visitors and the result will be around 15000,- euros. Now we are going to get additional money from LCIF to finish this great Project with water well, tanks, rooms for students. As the theme of the Europaforum ist WATER for Life I think our work and efforts could be interesting for some of the visitors

Lions Sailing Cup in Bosphorus on May 24, 2025, was achieved by District 118T. We are planning to hold the second Lions Sailing Cup race on May 29th, 2027, as well as Lions Rowing Cup 2027. As a result of the above mentioned activity, we experienced the following advantages for Lions: 1. Existing members were excited and motivated, 2. We have gained new member potential especially from the maritime industry, and from athletes who do water / sea sports such as sailing, rowing, swimming etc. 3. We may be more effective on Lions Special Olympics. 4. An international symposium on “SDG-14 (Life Below Water) and Importance of Maritime in the World” is being organised to emphasise importance of ocean and maritime matters which Lions may be interested in globally. 5. Maritime can be a new challenge for Lions to enlarge the service spectrum and to support Mission 1.5 concept. 6. By extending the Lions activity spectrum in the field of maritime, Lions have begun to develop solutions for various societal problems. Considering above mentioned advantages, MD-118 Council established Maritime and Water Sports National Commission in the service period of 2026-2027

My presentation is about an accommodation that is maintained by Pécs-Normandia LC to provide free accommodation for parents whose children are being treated against cancer.

The Street Works Committee **“Stelios Moutafis”** is a perfect example of Lions service and a great initiative to be presented at Lions Europa Forum. This initiative operates on the streets of Athens and provides food, clothing, and assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in society – homeless people. This initiative goes beyond helping homeless people meet their basic needs; its volunteers provide these people with dignity, compassion, and hope. By presenting this project at Lions Europa Forum, we will demonstrate that Lions Clubs are able to respond to urban poverty and help people who need it by engaging in community service. The Committee shows that the most important thing in providing meaningful service is to have dedicated volunteers and a commitment to provide services to those who need it most. The Lions motto, **“We Serve,”** is perfectly illustrated by this initiative. This initiative also serves as a great model that can be adapted by other Lions Clubs in Europe to provide help to people who need it. Thus, presenting the achievements and experience of the Committee will motivate other Lions Clubs in Europe to provide greater assistance to homeless people.

Brief description of the many ways water is important for our industry and technology: oil, coal, gas and rare earth extraction rely massively on water whis availability, use and consumption is a very imporant factor. Figures are given to explain the amount of water each technology uses.

Europe is currently experiencing two major transformations: increasing longevity and growing pressure on water resources driven by climate change, environmental pollution, and rising water demand. Although these challenges are generally addressed separately, they are deeply interconnected. This paper introduces the concept of the Water–Longevity Nexus, developed from the Italian Lions National Study on Longevity, as a new conceptual framework for integrating public health, environmental sustainability, and governance. The central thesis is that healthy and sustainable longevity cannot exist without access to safe water, while increasingly long-lived societies require more efficient, equitable, and sustainable water resource management. Adopting a systems-thinking approach, the paper examines the implications of this relationship for individuals, communities, and ecosystems, highlighting the role of Lions in promoting education, prevention, water stewardship, and collaboration among public institutions, the scientific community, and civil society. In line with the “Water = Life” theme of the Lions Europe Forum 2026, the paper proposes the establishment of a European Lions Water & Sustainable Longevity Initiative (ELWLI) as a collaborative platform to transform water from a natural resource into a strategic foundation for public health, climate resilience, and the well-being of present and future generations.

The **Lions Clubs Cultural Network** which started out with two Clubs in Athens, aims at serving society through culture, heritage and friendship. The aim is to establish an infrastructure where the Lions can promote the Greek cultural identity, values of citizenship, education, inclusion and international relations through lectures, exhibits, music, theater, literature, visits to museums, youth programs and other social activities. Inspired by the cultural and historical traditions of Athens, the Network will bridge the gap between the local and the global: celebrating Hellenic heritage while establishing connections between generations, communities and nations. In addition, it will enhance collaboration between the two founding Clubs through cooperation in planning and implementation of projects. Its ambition is not only organizing cultural events but turning culture into service: engaging youth, helping the disadvantaged, fostering dialogue and portraying Lionism as a force for peace and civic engagement. District 124 Romania has a strong Leo movement and significant potential for chartering new Leo-Lion clubs. Following the successful chartering of three new clubs last year, our focus is now on combining growth with long-term sustainability. The presentation examines the opportunities and risks of building clubs primarily around university communities, where graduation may lead to sudden membership decline. It proposes a practical model based on continuous recruitment, mixed-age membership, leadership succession, meaningful service projects, effective Lions mentoring and an early transition pathway from Leo to Leo-Lion and Lions membership. The objective is not only to charter more clubs, but to create strong, self-renewing Leo-Lion clubs that can eventually develop into sustainable Lions clubs.
