Lions European Music Competition Thomas Kuti (LEMC)

The LEMC pursues the Lions’ goal of promoting young people and European exchange among young people under the motto: Uniting Europe in Music.

The European Music Prize is organized by the Lions Europa Forum. The instrument changes every year. In 2026, the piano is the selected instrument.

After preliminary rounds are held in each country, the European final takes place during the Europa Forum in Karlsruhe.
Participants must not be older than 24 on January 1 of the competition year. To participate, contact the Lions organization in your country for further information and to register.

LEMC in der Stadthalle Karlsruhe

The European final of the Lions Music Prize will take place in the Karlsruhe City Hall.

The lecture hall is the: Hebelsaal

Round 1:

Thursday, October 22, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
All candidates will perform the compulsory piece and a piece of their choice from the repertoire list.

Round 2:

Friday, October 23, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., “Concert of the Six Best”
The six best candidates selected by the jury will perform the new composition for the European final in Karlsruhe and another piece of their choice from the repertoire list.

Registration:
Participants must register with the chairperson of the competition by
July 1, 2026. Detailed information on the registration process can also be obtained from the chairperson.
